About Bay Area Retina Associates (BARA)

BARA is a group practice of five Board Certified ophthalmologists who have gone beyond basic ophthalmology training and have received additional specialty training in the treatment of diseases of the retina and vitreous.

Our practice includes five nationally renowned physicians representing over seventy-five years of experience in retinal care. Our practice also includes many administrative, technical and support personnel with over one hundred cumulative years experience and knowledge in the medical field.

We attempt to keep you with the same physician for all your care. However, you may be asked to see one or all of the associates to provide proper and timely care.

As we are a referral practice with frequent unpredictable emergencies sent to us for our immediate attention, our appointment schedule may at times be delayed. Initial evaluations often take between one and three hours. Follow-up exams take at least one hour.
