Bay Area Retina Associates billing office staff hopes the information available here will help make your visit with our physicians go smoothly.
As a courtesy we file all your insurance claims to your primary and secondary insurances. Your Copayments are due at the time of your visit. If you do have insurance, you will be expected to make payment at the time of your visit. We can provide you with estimates prior to your visit.
Patients with HMO insurances are required to have their referrals from their Primary Care Providers prior to their visit.
Many insurance carriers require Prior Authorizations for visits, testing and/or procedures. BARA will request all prior authorization on your behalf, sometimes visits may have to be postponed or delayed pending approval from your insurance carrier. BARA has dedicated staff who work on this process. All efforts are made to get your authorizations approved and responded to promptly.
If you require further information, please feel free to contact our Billing Office by calling (925) 522-8858 or fax to (925) 938-3697.

It is the patient’s responsibility to know if the doctors they choose are either IN network providers or OUT of network providers. Your out of pocket expense can differ depending on this categorization. If you are not sure, please call us before your visit.
